Doula Services
My work as a doula has been some of my most rewarding. I cannot explain the deep satisfaction I feel in supporting a couple through pregnancy and birth. Having a baby is
undoubtedly one of the most transformative experiences a woman and her partner can go through together. I feel that it should be empowering, beautiful and honored.
My training as an herbalist and nutritional therapist allows me a nourishing perspective in my work as a doula. Not only am I able to provide information regarding pregnancy nutrition and holistic health care, but I can also assess your personal nutritional status and make herb and supplement recommendations based on your needs.
My services include
- a free, no obligation interview
- two prenatal visits concerning pregnancy health and nutrition, natural medicine for common pregnancy discomforts, the stages of birth, choices that you may be presented with during pregnancy and birth, relaxation and coping techniques, and getting to know each other
- assistance in creating your birth wish list
- ongoing support during your pregnancy by phone and email
- access to my library of books and DVDs
- being on call for two weeks prior to your due date up until the birth of your baby
- being present at your home prior to transporting to the hospital or for your home birth
- utilization of acupressure, aromatherapy, and homeopathy during the birth if so desired
- attendance at the birth until the baby is born and you are settled
- two postnatal visits: one week after the birth to check on breastfeeding and your healing, and when your baby is one month old to focus on your postpartum recovery
